 Rotax

Rotax is the fastest growing, most exciting class in karting! This division is open to everyone age 7 and older.  The classes run the Rotax FR125 engine only (except for DD2).  The youngest class is the Micro-Max class for 7 to 10 year old racers.  The engine power is reduced through the use of several restrictors, including throttle stop, exhaust restrictor, smaller exhaust pipe.  This class uses the cadet size chassis.  The next class is the Mini-Max, for 9 to 12 year old racers (there is a one year overlap to allow for gaining more racing experience if needed), the engine power is reduced by an intake and exhaust restrictor.  This class also uses the cadet size chassis.  The next class is Junior-Max, for 12 to 16 year old racers.  The engine power is reduced by the deletion of the power valve that the adult classes have.  This class uses a full size chassis. The next classes are the Senior and Masters.  These classes are for 16 years old and older.  There are no engine restrictors used.  These classes are separated by different kart/driver weights.  You start your young racer at the age of 7 and use the same engine with different configurations the entire time you race, how much easier can it get?

The Rotax class has it's own local, regional, national, and world championship series.  No matter the level of racing you want, it is possible to get involved and have fun.  The Rotax series makes racing easier and competitive with several really great ideas, one being the use of a single tire no matter where you choose to race, the MOJO tire is the only tire used.  The engines are sealed from the factory and can only be resealed by an Authorized Service Center.  This is to ensure the engines are as close to being the same as possible.  An ASC is approved only after training at the U.S. Rotax Distributor, and participates in the update program  to ensure top quality service to the customer.
